The MedLite C-6 laser is a safe, premium-engineered, easy-to-use aesthetic laser designed for treating and eliminating all colors in tattoo removal treatments. HOYA ConBio has made continual improvements to the MedLite C-6 laser since its introduction in 1992, increasing its power output, reducing its size, and introducing valuable features to maintain high levels of physician and patient satisfaction. Today, the MedLite C-6 Series is best known for its PhotoAcoustic effect, a combination of high power and nanosecond pulse widths that deliver peak energy throughout the layers of the epidermis faster than the normal relaxation time of the tissue. The result is a safe, effective way to harness peak power.

How does the laser remove a tattoo?
The MedLite laser produces a high-energy beam of light at four different wavelengths. Each wavelength targets specific ink colors. The energy from the laser beam passes through the skin and is absorbed by the tattoo ink. The intense energy breaks down the ink, which is then gradually removed by the body’s natural filtering system. The significantly improved beam profile of the MedLite C6 compared to previous generation lasers allows maximum energy to be delivered to the tattoo ink without damaging the surrounding tissue.
How many treatments will it take to remove the tattoo?
A professional tattoo will require six to twenty treatments for removal. Amateur tattoos, that use less ink and are not as deep, will require fewer treatments. The number of treatments will vary, depending on various factors including the type, amount, color, and depth of the tattoo ink.
Will the laser remove all colors?
Yes, the laser will remove all tattoo colors, but some colors are more difficult to remove than others. Dark blue, black and red inks will fade faster than green, yellow, or sky blue inks.
Is laser tattoo removal painful?
Some people will experience a greater degree of discomfort than others. We use a topical anesthetic and air cooler machine to minimize discomfort.
How much does tattoo removal cost?
Our mission is to make tattoo removal affordable. The size of your tattoo will determine the price. We’ll give you a firm price when we see your tattoo. There is no charge for the initial consultation.
Will the laser completely remove the tattoo?
Most patients will see better than 95% removal. It is impossible to predict the degree of removal on any given tattoo because there are so many different brands of tattoo inks.

Q: How does the laser work?
A: The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into skin tissue where it delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat. For patient comfort, the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) technology protects the upper layers of the skin with a cooling burst of cryogen. Together the long-pulse laser and DCD cooling offer optimal treatments with minimal side effects.
Q: What conditions can be treated?
A: The laser will remove facial and body hair, vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, and wrinkles.
Q: What does the treatment include?
A: Depending on the area treated, the procedure varies from patient to patient. Generally, the treatment will include: wearing safety eyewear to protect the practitioner and patient's eyes from the laser light during the procedure. A small hand piece will be used that touches the skin to deliver the laser light. A light spray of coolant onto the skin will be felt just before each laser pulse. A test area will be done prior to the entire treatment. Most patients experience little discomfort at the treatment site because of the dynamic cooling device. The degree of discomfort varies with each person, depending on his/her pain threshold. Topical anesthesia may also be requested based on individual preferences or tolerances. The procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on the area treatment. The treated area may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment; this may last from a few hours to several days and is relieved with the application of ice or cooling gels.
Q: What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?
A: Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before and after treatment. Hair removal patients must avoid electrolysis, plucking or waxing hair for 6 weeks prior to treatment. If there is a history of perioral herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed. Photosensitive drugs must be discontinued 3 to 5 days before treatment.
Q: How many treatments will be needed?
A: The number of treatments depends on the treatment required and the condition of the skin. For hair removal, most patients require 4 to 6 treatments, as the process is only effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth stage. Other conditions require anywhere from 2 to 6 treatments. Many factors impact the efficacy of individual treatments, including the severity of the condition being treated.
Q: What are the side effects?
A: Risks are minimal. Side effects may include purpura (a laser bruise), redness, blistering, hyperpigmentation, hypo pigmentation and swelling in the treated area. These side effects usually do not last for more than a few days. Permanent side effects such as hyperpigmentation or hypo pigmentation or scarring are rare.
Q: Is this procedure covered by insurance?
A: Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for cosmetic procedures. However, consult with your insurance carrier for more information.
